TFC is a casual conference;
slacks, jeans, and shorts are all appropriate. Even facilitators enjoy
wearing casual attire.
-
You'll appreciate June's cool
daytime temperatures (high 60's and low 70's) and even the chilly nights.
Bring a sweatshirt and/or light jacket to layer if you need to.
-
Being in the
Wasatch mountains means less
oxygen and certainly less humidity than most places. Drink two to
three times more fluids than usual and keep caffeine to a minimum for
one or two days (bring a water bottle, if you like).
-
Limit or avoid alcohol; it
will dehydrate you. Remember that one drink will have the effect of
two at sea level.
-
Bring and use sunscreen and
sunglasses for the great sunny weather!
-
When exercising, you're
likely to find you can do less than usual. Plan to lighten your
workouts, especially for the first day or so.
-
If you have headaches,
lightheadedness, nausea, unusual fatigue, or sleeping problems, you may have
altitude sickness. These symptoms normally disappear in the first day or two as
the body adapts to the altitude, especially with the more water you
drink.
-
If you experience severe
altitude sickness symptoms, contact the hotel or conference registration for
referral to a medical facility.
