Note to all prospective presenters:  The most successful workshops share five basic characteristics:
  
  1. Participants are encouraged to share experiences with each other and tell their stories.
  2. The content is well researched and available as a handout.
  3. Participants have an opportunity to actively apply the learning to practical, relevant situations.
  4. The session is appealing to the visual as well as auditory learner.
  5. Session content can be applied by participants in their own teaching context(s).
Session Title:
Objective: what will learners be able to do as a result of attending your session?
Methods: what teaching methods will you use during your session?  Specify how your audience will be actively involved.
Abstract: maximum 50 words:  to be printed in program if proposal is accepted.  Participants are attracted to descriptions that specify how they will be actively involved as learners, how they will practice and apply concepts introduced, and two or three practical tools they will be able to use as result of attending the proposed session.
Audio-Visual: we will gladly provide a flipchart with pad and markers for each session
  • a limited number of LCD computer projectors will be available courtesy of Salt Lake Community College and Laramie County Community College.  Please indicate on your proposal if you require the use of an LCD projector
  • TV/VCRs and overhead projectors can be accommodated if requested on your proposal

Very Important:  Rooms are scheduled based on the AV requested on proposals.  Once the conference schedule has gone to print in March, additional AV will be at the facilitators expense.  

  • TV/VCRs are $145
  • LCD projectors are $375 - $500
  • Overhead projectors are $45 - $125

 

Additional Comments:


Proposals must be submitted by November 14, 2008.  Facilitators will be notified by December 15, 2008.  Neither honoraria nor expenses will be paid.

Teaching for a Change is not responsible if for any reason one or more speakers are unable to appear at the conference.  In that eventuality, registrants are not entitled to a refund on any part of the registration fee.
